After the speaker series with Oliver Gahr (IBM), Martin Mähler (IBM) presented the award to Michael Vössing.
To support his research on Predictive Maintenance, Michael Vössing was awarded the “IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Award 2016”. Michael, who was a student at KSRI before, will be collaborating in the STEP project. He was chosen as one of five scholars for the IBM program in Germany.
Michael Vössing studied Industrial Engineering at KIT during his Bachelor and Master and spent semesters in Stockholm and London (Canada). Last year he participated in the KSRI Service Design Thinking program, which he supported as a coach this year. Michael caught IBM’s attention during his ExtremeBlue internship, during which he developed a predictive policing solution to forecast the risk of burglary in German cities. His work led to a cooperation between police forces and IBM.
