Christian Haas, PhD student at KSRI, visited the universities in Chicago and Cardiff for a three-month research stay. The visit was funded by a scholarship of the Karlsruhe House of Young Scientists (KHYS). For the first half of his research stay, he visited the University of Chicago, one of the best ranked universities in the US. At the Computation Institute of Prof. Foster, the focus of his research was collaborative resource sharing and dynamic allocation mechanisms. During the second half of the research stay he visited Prof. Omer Rana at Cardiff University’s School of Computer Science. During this time he mainly worked on the combination of social network related topics studied at Cardiff and Karlsruhe. Following the research stay, he also presented selected results of his work in two-sided matching at the 10th International Conference on Economics of Grids, Clouds, Systems and Services (GECON 2013) in Zaragoza, Spain.
