Workshop „IT-based Services for e-Mobility“

As part of the 44th annual conference of the Gesellschaft für Informatik (INFORMATIK 2014), the Karlsruhe Service Research Institute (KSRI) from KIT in cooperation with the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS) offers a workshop about “IT-based Services for e-Mobility” at the Westfälische Wilhelms-University of Münster. It is supported by the Information Management branch from the University of Kassel and the chair of Business Informatics from the Technical University of Munich. Moreover, the KSRI represents the consortium for the BMBF accompanying research project “Dienstleistungen für Elektromobilität (DELFIN)”.

“We are glad to continue the successful series of workshops in order to provide a panel for IT and Services associated to e-Mobility,” says Prof. Dr. Hansjörg Fromm, Director at the KSRI. The workshop is a follow-up of the workshop “IT-based service-approaches for e-Mobility” held at the 43th annual conference of the Gesellschaft für Informatik.

“We want to provide an opportunity to present results and improve networking between research projects concerning e-Mobility,” says Dr. Martin Matzner, coordinator of the workshop from ERCIS that is responsible for the BMBF-funded projects CrowdStrom and EOL-IS. The workshop addresses innovative IT-based Services for e-Mobility as well as methods for their development. Contributions that analyze recent Services from science and industry and on top of that either create concepts for e-Mobility or expand methods and instruments from Service Science into the area of e-Mobility are considered in particular.

Submissions can be made until 22nd April, 2014 12th of May 2014.

Workshop „Big Data in Mobility and Logistics“

In addition, KSRI together with partners from the Forschungszentrum Informatik Karlsruhe (FZI) offers a workshop covering “Big Data in Mobility and Logistics (BDMobilLog 2014)”. Focus is put on the complexity of logistics processes due to traffic density and increasing importance of e-Mobility in the procurement chain as e.g. at DHL. In this area, the application of Big Data methods can valuably support the efficiency of processes.
